It's going to be a big week at Mason Creek! Tomorrow is Georgia Reads Day, so please have your Wolf Cub dress in our school colors or school spirit shirts so we can show Georgia that Mason Creek Reads! Also, book fair kicks off tomorrow from 7am-1pm! We look forward to seeing all of our Wolf Cubs back tomorrow safe and sound after the storm! Our thoughts are with those across the Southeast that didn't fare as well as Douglas County. #bettertogether

WEATHER UPDATE: The Douglas County School System has been closely monitoring Hurricane Helene and the potential for heavy rain and strong winds in our area tomorrow in collaboration with the National Weather Service. According to the National Hurricane Center and our local emergency management agency, inclement weather will begin impacting our area on Thursday evening. At this time, schools will operate on a normal schedule on Thursday, September 26, 2024. However, all after-school activities and programs on that day will be canceled. In addition, all classes, after school events and activities will be canceled for Friday, September 27. Our top priority is to always maintain the safety of our students and staff. Therefore, we will keep a vigilant eye on weather conditions throughout the evening. If there are any further changes, we will promptly inform our school community. We will communicate this important information through email, text, and social media platforms. It will also be shared on social media and in collaboration with our media partners. We appreciate your understanding as we continue our focus on the safety and well-being of our school community.

Thank you Mason Creek Families! We have 100% of our students logging their reading in Beanstack! We love seeing our students enjoy reading and doing it every day! How does reading at least 20 minutes each day help? Every minute your Wolf Cub spends reading or being read to sets them up for future success! #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

First grade students learned about Sonia Sotomayor in STEM for Hispanic Heritage Month. They learned that she was the first Hispanic woman to become a Supreme Court Judge. They also learned that she loved books. Then they worked on their teamwork skills and built a Tower of Knowledge using a limited number of index cards and some books. #bettertogether #theCreekisontheRise

Congratulations to our Students of the Month! This month students were selected because they embody the word Respect. They were chosen by their teachers for showing respect by using their manners, with polite words and actions. These are students that are respectful even when they become frustrated.
