Congratulations to Makayla Dobbs who not only completed the summer reading program at the public library, but she was also our top reader logging her minutes into Beanstack this summer! She logged over 650 minutes! Our August Beanstack challenge is coming to an end and our September one kicks off this weekend. Be sure your Wolf Cub is logging into Beanstack to complete our monthly challenges!

Introducing Mason Creek's first ever Wolf Cub News Crew! Kamryn H., Laila T., Kaicen S., Ashtyn S., and Demi C. have done an amazing job this week recording morning announcements for everyone in the school to watch each morning. This week they have learned how to be anchors, weather forecasters in front of a green screen, and producers. We are so proud of them!

Mark your calendars, DCSS families! The new school year is almost here, and we can't wait to see all those smiling faces (new and returning!) back in our classrooms ✏️. Check out this graphic for more details about our Sneak-a-Peeks and Back-to-School Bashes coming up.
We're looking forward to welcoming our DCSS community for our annual Back to School Kick-Off on Saturday, July 20 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Please note the event will be held at the Legacy Arena, 9030 Hwy. 5, Douglasville, GA 30134, and the Clear Bag Policy will be enforced. Current DCSS students and families are invited for food, games, prizes, school supplies, and more! Community agencies offering a variety of resources will also be onsite to provide information and assistance.
Kindergarten Registration for the 2024-2025 school year is currently taking place. Students must have completed registration by July 9 in order to attend Kindergarten Camp, the Douglas County School System's four-day camp that provides students with a preview of the school day and an opportunity participate in fun activities, learn routines, and become familiar with the places and faces within their new learning environment. Summer is the perfect time for students to dive into a great book! The Douglas County School System and the West Georgia Regional Library System have teamed up to provide students with P.L.A.Y.
(PINES Library Access for Youth) Cards that provide free access to public library materials so that reading can continue year-round.
