Our November Beanstack Challenge is coming to a close over Thanksgiving Break! We are asking students to read 300 minutes during the month of November! Be sure you have 300 minutes logged by November 30th! Our December Challenge is going to be very exciting! Starting December 1st, we are challenging Mason Creek Middle School to see which school can read the most minutes during December. Since this challenge is during our Winter Break, Wolf Cubs have plenty of time to knock this out of the park! The top reader at MAES, with parent permission, will even get to go visit the library at Mason Creek Middle School for a part of a day in January to celebrate being the top reader at MAES!

The Douglas County School System works with Douglas County Public Libraries and the West Georgia Regional Library. Due to this partnership, we can borrow books from any library in the PINES system all over Georgia and they deliver them to our school! We currently have four novel studies going at Mason Creek due to this! Thanks West Georgia Regional Library!

Ms. Hale has been working with 5th grade on guidance lessons about bullying. This week's lesson included a game where students were given scenarios and had to answer whether the scenario was physical, emotional, verbal or cyber bullying. Our 5th graders were very engaged in their lesson!
